FAQ

NIDO ONE is a computer for the automation and management of soilless crops, it controls and automates all the parameters necessary for soilless plant cultivation (hydroponics, aeroponics, etc).
NIDO ONE is very quiet, less than 50dB.
Of course, you can connect the NIDO PLUGS to your system also at a later time, you can download the association procedure HERE.
NIDO ONE will continue to work according to the calendar you set. If the blackout is particularly long you may see gaps in the historical graphs, but the automatic growth will not be affected.
When electricity returns, NIDO ONE will automatically turn on and resume working with the calendar and settings you specified. Nothing will be lost.
NIDO guarantee covers the product from manufacturing defects for a period of 24 months. The pH probe being a “consumable” product has a 90-days warranty.
Yes, all user data is protected according to the latest privacy regulations and the NIDO encryption system with server abroad allows total protection on usage.
Yes, NIDO ONE continues to work even without the internet, but you can only control and manage it when it is connected to the internet.
Only the pH probe needs calibration (every 2 months) and replacement (about every 15 months). The procedure is simple and intuitive and takes a few minutes.
Use ONLY phosphoric acid below 20% concentration, NEVER introduce other types of acids in NIDO ONE.
Only liquid mineral nutrients can be used, the use of too dense fertilizers can cause obstructions in the internal hydraulic circuit making NIDO ONE unusable. Do not use organic fertilizers.
NIDO ONE can work on all closed-circuit hydroponic/aeroponic systems with a total quantity of nutrient solution ranging from a minimum of 10 liters to a maximum of 2500 liters.

You have to purchase the “Connector for tank” which is an optional not included with NIDO ONE.
NIDO ONE will not work properly and will not be able to bring the water to the preset values.
Yes, but you must correctly size the tank of the nutrient solution which must never lower than 30% per day.
Example: if you connect NIDO ONE to 1000 liters of water, the consumption for irrigation cannot exceed 300 liters / day.
It depends on the type of plant and the type of plants you grow. To get a clearer idea, you should talk to an agronomist or a hydroponic system builder.
To be able to pair your Smartphone with NIDO ONE you must make sure that the device is switched on and connected to the internet.
If you have just installed NIDO ONE, wait at least 30 minutes, make sure everything is connected correctly and follow the instructions in the manual for a correct hydraulic connection, remember that NIDO ONE must always get water from the IN pipe. Check that the water filter you have installed inside the tank is clean and that it is totally immersed in water, if the problem persists, raise the water tank with respect to NIDO ONE by at least 5 cm.
NIDO ONE detects the lack of fertilizer or acid through proprietary algorithms, the sensitivity can vary according to the type of fertilizer or concentration of acid in use. In any case, the signal does not involve any blocking or problems and could occur at first use due to lack of fertilizer in the internal ducts. To reset the alert wait 24 hours or restart NIDO ONE.
If the metering pumps stand idle for several months or fertilizer clogs are created inside the hose, the pump rotor may idle to avoid breakage on the motor. To fix the pump see this tutorial.
Check the lights on the NIDO ONE panel, if the red light is on, it means that the Access Point is too far away, approach it and wait a few minutes or restart NIDO. If the problem persists, try to force the association between NIDO ONE and its Access Point following the procedure reported in the user manual. If the blue light on the NIDO panel flashes, it means that NIDO ONE is connected to its Access Point but has no internet signal, check your network cable or your router.
It is recommended to clean NIDO ONE every time a cultivation is completed, especially to prevent the fertilizers from hardening in the internal pipes. Every time you finish a cultivation cycle, carry out the cleaning procedure from the “settings” menu —> device cleaning.
To control the FELIX via the NIDO APP, you need both NIDO GATE and NIDO ONE.
You are probably using a concentration of phosphoric acid (pH-) that is too high for NIDO ONE. If you start from 25% Phosphoric Acid, we advise you to stretch it in the proportion 2 parts of water and 1 part of acid, if you start from concentrations above 50%, stretch it with 5 parts of water and 1 part of phosphoric acid.
Use ONLY pH+ at very low concentrations (potassium hydroxide below 10%).
To install NIDO ONE you just need a drill to make the holes in the bulkheads in the tub and a nearby mains socket (max 5 meters distance as the crow flies).
We offer technical assistance on the product, we do not offer advice on plant cultivation.
The installation of NIDO ONE is very simple, you will find all the instructions inside the box or if you prefer, you can watch this 2-minute tutorial at this LINK.
The bottles integrated in NIDO ONE are designed for small and medium systems (Max 200 liters) for larger systems it is advisable to purchase the “connector for tank” for this LINK.
No, NIDO ONE works only with NIDO PLUG.
To associate a new NIDO PLUG to NIDO ONE you can follow the tutorial to this LINK.
N.B.: once the association procedure has been completed, it may take several minutes before seeing the NIDO PLUG on the NIDO APP.
The best solution is to use a mix of osmotic water and tap water, obtaining a starting EC of about 0.2-0.3.
If you need to install NIDO ONE in a place where you cannot get there with an internet connection, we recommend that you purchase the D-Link DWR-932 Access Point and purchase a SIM CARD with at least 400mb / month of data traffic.
NO, you can only connect NIDO ONE to the internet via a network cable, you could try to evaluate if the PowerLine TP-Link TL-PA4010 is right for you.
Depending on the type of fertilizer and the size of the plant, it can take from 5 to 15 hours.
All the deliveries and actions that NIDO ONE performs has operational tolerances that you can see below:
- Standard compensation tolerances
- Min tolerance EC: 125 µS
- Min tolerance pH: 0.2
- Temperature tolerance: 2°
- Humidity tolerance: 10%
These values can be raised or decreased by NIDO LAB (feature available from may 2021).
Check that there is fertilizer in NIDO ONE, that the cans are inserted correctly and that you have set the correct liters of the system in the NIDO APP from the “settings” menu.
If you have left NIDO ONE unused for some time without cleaning from the “settings” menu, mineral salts may have become encrusted inside the pipes. Connect NIDO ONE to your system and insert osmotic or tap water in your tub. Put about 100 ml of pure phosphoric acid at high concentrations (at least 50%) in the 4 cans of NIDO and let it act for at least 24 hours, then start the device cleaning cycle and check if the acid is sucked by the dosing pumps, if the problem persists wait another 24 hours and repeat the cleaning cycle 1 or 2 times.
Check that you have correctly tightened the ph and EC probe presses.
The pH probe, as in any meter, is the most delicate part of NIDO ONE. You can try dipping it in KCI (potassium chloride) for 24/36 hours, and try to do a new calibration. If the problem persists replace it with a new probe.
When you replace the pH probe, calibrate with ph7 and ph4 from the “settings” menu of the NIDO APP.
No, a NIDO ONE manages only one plant and one tank of nutrient solution.
Use ONLY phosphoric acid below 20% concentration, NEVER introduce other types of acids into NIDO ONE.
If you use phosphoric acid at high concentrations, NIDO ONE could lower the ph value too much, in case you have phosphoric acid higher than 20%, you can dilute it with tap water (DO NOT USE DISTILLED WATER) with these proportions:
for concentrations up to 30% → 1 part phosphoric acid, 2 parts water
for concentrations above 50% → 1 part of phosphoric acid, 4 parts of water
Slot A is green, slot B is yellow, slot C is red, and slot D is black.
Green = Fertilizer A
Yellow = Fertilizer B
Red = Fertilizer C
Black = pH- (Phosphoric acid below 20% concentration)
Green = Fertilizer A
Yellow = Fertilizer B
Red = Fertilizer C
Black = pH + (potassium hydroxide below 10% concentration)
Green = Fertilizer A
Yellow = Fertilizer B
Red = pH + (potassium hydroxide below 10% concentration)
Black = pH- (Phosphoric acid below 20% concentration)
To use NIDO ONE without drilling the tank, you must use an immersion pump for aquariums (see photo), then connect it to a NIDO PLUG configured as a “flow pump” in Settings → devices
